i felt my patience beginning to itch.looking into my wire basket i counted ten items:giant bottles of coke crammed in beside a bag of potatoes,somewhere at the bottom,i thought, there was always eggs or a see-thorugh tray of tomatoes which fell casualty to the rest.there was nothin else for it-i'd just have to wait.
the cashier was looking expectantly at me and i realzied that i had totalled up.i had an inclination that the people behind me were becoming impatient.
i gave over my money and picked up my carrier bag.i felt a sense of relief to be away from the mass of people.
walking towards my bicycle ,i suddenly felt much better in the fresh air.in future i'd buy a large salad cream.
