advantages :have a good rest/spend more time …with …disadvantages:…cause a lot of trouble…/be crowded everywhere…in 20xx， ‘may golden week’ was canceled， but this year people have discussed the problem whether we should renew ‘may golden week’ or not.some people think the 7-day holiday is very important.
firstly， we could have a good rest and refresh ourselves after several months of hard work.
secondly， we could spend more time staying with our family.
thirdly， we will be able to use the one-week vacation to travel to some farther places such as foreign countries.however， other people hold the opposite view. they think it causes a lot of problems.
it may lead to traffic jam and visitors will not enjoy themselves if the travelling spots are over-crowded.as a student， i prefer a 7-day holiday. not only can i sleep well and do exercise， but also i can read some interesting books. how i wish a 7-day holiday would come soon and we will have a 7-day holiday then！
may day holiday and national day may day holiday have become the golden time for traveling and family reunion since they were established as legal holidays. but in recent years the problems they have brought about are challenging chinese people and chinese government. chinese people differ on the matter of whether to keep the two golden week holiday. (some people insist on keeping them as national holidays while others suggest that they be cancelled in consideration of such problems they have caused as traffic jam, overloaded historic sites, rising prices of board and lodging.) personally, i will never say no to he long holidays because they have become an important part of chinese people’s life.
what benefit chinese people can enjoy from may day holiday and national day holiday justify their existence. firstly, they are legal paid holidays. secondly they are long enough for chinese people to enjoy family reunion and manage travels. thirdly, they serve to stimulate people’s consumption, thus promoting the development of chinese economy.
it’s true that long holidays have caused problems with traffic and even made historic sites and summer resorts overloaded, but no problems can’t be solved as long as chinese government take effective measures. so why not welcome and enjoy long holidays?
supporters who strongly approve of the rejection make up as much as 24% of the sample. they hold such evident views. in the first place, terrible traffic jam as well as huge gathering tourists is the most tough issue which should be to blame for an annoying long holiday. in addition, the heavy pollution causes by the large numbers of tourists’ pouring in may result in some sort of permanent damage to the historical sites.
